CERTIFICATE COURSE IN STORES MANAGEMENT

Objectives :-
To enhance the knowledge and understanding of the policies, principles and techniques of Stores Management. To impart skills in the operations of the Stores Management function in order to cut down waste in all its forms.

The Course is designed for the Middle Management and Stores Assistants who are engaged in Stores Function in the Public & Private Sector Organizations.

Course Contents:-
Introduction of Stores Management, Planning, Sitting and layout of Stores Building and Stock yards, Stores Organization and Staff, Supply Cycle, Purchasing Functions, Control of Receipts, Control of Issues, Control of Dispatch, Distribution, Storage Methods and Location, Storage Equipment, Maintenance, Preservation & Protection of Storage, Materials Handling, Stock Control, Stores Accounts, Planning, Organization, Control, Management Functions, Motivation, Productivity, Leadership, Communication, Disposal of Unserviceable and write offs, Stock Verification, Stock Records, Coding and Classification, Stores Manual, Packing and Packaging/ Purchase of Capital Equipment, Standardization, Specifications, Fire and Security Aspects, Return Stores, Transfers, Duties and Responsibilities of Stores Managers, Quality Control.

Entry Requirements:-
Those who have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in Six Subjects with a Credit Pass in Language and Mathematics or Those who have successfully completed the Storekeeping Course of the ISMM.

Duration : - 12 Weeks Ends (6 hours a day)

Course Fee:- Rs.14,000/= (Includes VAT 12% and NBT 3%)

Examination and Award of Certificate :-
Participants who have attended 80% of lectures will be allowed to sit for the exam and the certificate of Stores Management will be awarded to those who have successfully completed the exam.

Membership of ISMM Candidates who pass the Stores Management Course can apply for Associate Membership once they complete 3 years experience in the field.
