The Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM), as the National Professional Institute for Supply Chain Management Education in Sri Lanka, successfully hosted a comprehensive workshop on "𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐋𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬: 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭."
The event was held on 28th February 2025 at the Park Premier, Excel World Colombo, attracting a diverse audience of professionals from various sectors, including supply chain, procurement, logistics, and finance.
The full-day session, conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offered valuable insights into advanced cost management strategies, equipping participants with practical tools to enhance cost visibility, optimize sourcing decisions, and drive continuous process improvement through Activity-Based Costing (ABC).
The workshop was enriched by the expertise of Dr. Sanath Divakara, General Secretary of ISMM, whose deep industry knowledge and practical approach added significant value to the discussions and interactive sessions.
The event was further elevated by the participation of prominent leaders from ISMM, including: Mr. Jayantha Gallehewa, President of ISMM and President-Elect of the Organization of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA), Mr. Sarath Gamage, Immediate Past President of ISMM and OPA, Capt. Akram Alavi, Director of Training at ISMM.
The workshop provided an excellent platform for professionals to explore innovative cost management techniques, enhance their strategic decision-making capabilities, and network with industry peers, fostering valuable knowledge-sharing and collaborative learning.
With active participation and engaging discussions, the event once again highlighted ISMM’s commitment to advancing the supply chain profession in Sri Lanka by delivering high-quality professional development programs that address emerging industry challenges and global best practices.
